tModern Day Dvd Screenprinting

DVD screenprinting is a technique used to print images on digital video discs using a stencil, and the image that is created on the disc is referred to as a screenprint or a serigraph. The technology that goes into DVD screenprinting actually goes back to the 1900s in industrial and graphic arts professions, and now it is used for much more than recorded discs; it is used for T-shirts, ceramics, glass, plastic, paper, metal and more. Companies that offer DVD duplication and other printing jobs typically offer this type of service as well, with discounts for larger orders of more than 1,000 discs. The modern-day process of DVD screenprinting is the result of great technology refinements that have been made over the years to improve upon the processes that were invented more than a century ago. There are color correction techniques, for example, that ensure the colors look as they are supposed to when the final job is completed. DVD duplication companies also use polyester now as opposed to actual silk, which was typically used before the 1940s. The material is stretched over a frame of aluminum or wood, designated areas as blocked off with a non-permeable material to form a stencil, and the open spaces are left to soak in the ink. There are different DVD screenprinting methods, but one of the most common is the four color process where artwork is created using dots combines to create the full spectrum of colors that are needed for photographic prints. With color correction, a large number of colors can be printed using only four screens and they will look perfect every time, making the set-up costs viable. DVD duplication firms use special machines where the inks are blended and are more translucent, meaning a compromise with vibrancy of color but a very professional looking finished product. DVD screenprinting is a valuable service that is available for businesses and individuals in the 21st century, using techniques that have been around for generations.
