There is a big difference between CD duplication Boston and CD replication Boston, although the goal of both processes is the same - to reproduce large numbers of compact discs. With CD replication Boston, the compact discs are replicated with the help of a glass master that is either provided by the owner or made to order by the replicating company. This process is better when larger quantities of discs are needed, and quality is of the utmost importance. CD duplication Boston, on the other hand, is often a shorter process that is inexpensive when only a couple hundred discs are needed. CD replication Boston is a complicated process, in which the glass master is used to make a stamper that in turn is used to copy information on to the CD foil. The foil is then coated with multiple layers of polycarbonate plastic, screened and packaged. The CD replication Boston service provider can package the disc depending on the requirements of the customer. A similar process is used for DVD replication Boston, but the packaging is often different for this process. CD duplication Boston service providers can also package the discs that are produced in the duplication process, which is a process similar to CD burning but on a larger scale. After completing the CD duplication Boston, the discs may be jewel packed, placed in standard cases, or in some type of exclusively designed packaging from the customer. The prices for these services differ in accordance to the quality of packaging requested. The CD replication Boston process and packaging are often undertaken by the same company that performs CD duplication Boston, and since the advent of automated machines these companies can perform either task in a short period of time. Replication is still the process of choice for larger quantities, though, because it is more cost effective that way.
