tCD Printing And DVD Printing Technologies

There are several different technologies available for CD printing and DVD printing Boston, including digital offset printing and screen printing.

It is often most cost effective to choose screen printing technologies for CD printing and DVD printing Boston jobs. The process involves films that are used as stencils across monofilament fabric screens with colored inks applied onto the surface of the CD or DVD. The resulting CD printing or DVD printing Boston can produce very vivid colors, and is especially effective at reproducing spot colors. This process is most effective with simple designs that only include a few colors, and it is usually only available for orders of 500 or more discs.

Digital offset printing Boston is the most common commercial printing technique for very large quantities of discs. There is a wide variety of digital offset printing applications with a varying range of results. Digital offset printing machines can either have their artwork and layout set directly to the printing plate from the computer, or artists can create a physical paste-up from their layout that they will expose to the plates using a process camera, film negatives, and chemical treatment.

The digital offset printing process allows for highly detailed photographic images and small text to be applied to the CDs and DVDs in great quantities. This is why people usually only use this process for CD printing and DVD printing if they need upwards of 1,000 discs with highly detailed artwork. It is not affordable for smaller orders of discs, though.
